It has been a while since I wrote. Mostly it’s been because I’ve been busy. Mostly because I’ve been sad. My dad passed away on July 15th. After 6 months of dealing with lung cancer, my very strong father gave his last breath.
Since then it has been a whirlwind of activity. My brother Ray and his family from Holland have been visiting, and it has been one thing after another. We were also ALL sick at the same time for that streched for over a month and a half. Isabelle Mike and I were sick twice each.

Jack officially weighs more than Isabelle. At 5 months he’s bigger than his two year old sister. WOW! When people describe him all they say is “he’s really big.”
His feet are ok for now. The orthopedist said nothing needs to be done for now. In a year from now he’ll look again at the feet.
He smiles more every day, and puts both of his hands in his mouth as he coos and giggles. He still spits up a lot and has not taken to squeeling when he’s upset, tired, or hungry.
I started Jack on Rice cereal two days ago. He seems to like the food and has worked himself up to a tablespoon of cereal.
I see two bottom teeth coming under the skin. This week should be fun…. 🙁
Jack only wants to sit up now, although he still needs to be held.
Isabelle: Her teeth are FINALLY all out. Already her temperment has improved and she wimpers and cries much less if she does not get anything.
Before my dad passed away she always tried to play with him. Every time we visited, she attempted to get him to play with her or to smile or give a hug. She always had a smile. My dad was passed appreciating the playfulness, but I know he appreciated her smile. To me it was a blessed thing.
After Dad died, Isabelle would always look in the living room where Grandpa sat and put up her hands in a gesture that meant “where is he?”. This is occurring less and less now.
Her Baba: in fear that she would loose Baba (Mr. Soldier), I borrowed another knitted animal and tied a string around it’s neck. I called it baby Baba. She adopted it at once. Within a week she adopted two more Baba’s. She now has four.
Isabelle’s vocabulary has not improved. Becuase of this, her pediatrician wanted her to have a speech therapist review her. The appointment is this week. I have not been too worried, because I know she understands everything, but it started to annoy me that she kept grunting “un, uh” all the time and pointing. BUT, with all the visitors, and cousins playing wit her ANd the fact that mike and I were saying, we don’t understand, SUDDENLY within the past few days she is coming out with words and even two words together. It’s amazing and I think she’s even amazed too. It’s exciting! (8/11 new words: Aunti Di, Memere, Me, egg, two).
Bella can hold up two fingers and say ‘two’ for her age.
Her word for slide: WEE, because when she goes down the slide she says Weeee…..
Her word for the music instrument: DO, becaues we sing do, re, me…
Things she likes to do:
-play in sandbox by herself for a time
-splash in pool
-hide the basket of eggs
-smother her brother in a hug
-run around naked
-dance to music
-draw in chalkboard (circles)
-eat from the garden – especially garden tomatoes or raspberries.

Jack: Doctor’s visit today. All around he’s a big boy. No issues at this visit, except one – his feet curve in. He’ll need to see an orthopedist. This is something handed down from the Larrivee’s. All the boys had this issue. Jack received 3 shots. I always hate that part of the visit.
