This past month has been glorious and beautiful. Sunny, warm, a perfect summer. Mornings and evenings are the most beautiful, and the days hot enough to burn in the sun. Many trips to the beach, lots of play in the pool, and many sweaty bodies.

Activities have included: Jack’s pres-school graduation; t-ball games; Father’s Day; Andy’s b-day party; trips to library; library concerts; finding Fibby, summer reading; library jester; Farmer’s market walk; Lilac Park; Early morning walks; walks to town; Slip ‘n slide; Mom’s 80th; Seamu’s first birthday; Larrivee visits (Linde visiting; Den&family visiting; Ray& Tonny visiting); Strawberry picking; swimming at Lenox beach, Card Pond, and Richmond pond; playing with friends; gardening; picking black caps, strawberries, peas and raspberries in yard; playing in small pool, Albert’s 4th party; Blue berry picking;

Isabelle: starting to read Level 1 books. Each day she picks up a bit more. All very exciting. She also just learned to swim the doggy paddle with her life jacket on and puts her face under water. Most of her classmates can swim or are close to it. Bella has a way to go, but she is coming along.

Jack: is sounding out words already. He tries very hard and will be an early reader I think. He has been pushing our buttons lately by saying NO to everything. Most of the time it’s habit that makes him yell the word, but it gets us boiled up.

Bella and Jack have been playing around like to great buddies, be it in the pool, picking berries, telling each other stories, playing trains, working in the sandbox,etc. I guess when there is no one else to play with, playing together is bound to happen.

Seamus: every day is something new. Sometimes so happy, sometimes a grouchy day. He loves to climbs stairs when he gets a chance. He’ll often rush to the stairs when he thinks I’m not looking. He loves to flop and roll around on the bed, giggling and cooing. He plays the game of crawling away from me, looking back and laughing. He’s now really listening when we read a story and is starting to point at things. He understands the words fan and kitty. He’s able to sign the words for All Done, More, and Drink. Seamus has learned to hit too, and will hit me on the face sometimes with a great whack when I least expect it. The kids love and get so frustrated with him. They love to snuggle and squeeze, but then they go overboard. If he takes their stuff and breaks a train track, Seamus gets dragged, dropped, slapped on head or sometimes squeezed too hard. Seamus loves the beach, the sand and water. He even will eat the sand. Silly baby. Seamus is crawling very fast now , able to pull himself up, and just now able to go from one item while holding onto another. He just had his year physical and everything checks out well. I thought Seamus would be my easy going child, but he has a mind of his own as well. Par for the course I guess when it’s Mike and myself as the parents.
