Last Thursday Isabelle discovered the stairs. Before she always played on the bottom step. Suddenly instead of playing, she crawled to the top. She now likes to climb the stairs and crawl to her room.

I took Isabelle last week to the dentist because we thought she had something stuck in her from tooth and gum. I dreaded the trip. But within minutes, we found that there was nothing stuck, and instead she was getting her first molar. I saw it clear as day, poking through the gum. Bella has been relatively happy, so I was surprised, although now I understand her short naps, the drool, and her desire to be close. It also explains her waking unexpectedly the other night. Mike took care of her all by himself and got her back to sleep. It was a relief to me that I did not have to nurse.

Isabelle is digging mike now. She loves to wave good bye and hello. We greet him when he comes home and send him off with kisses. She always smiles and laughs when he is around.

What Bella likes to do:
-crinkle nose and breathe
-rub face in her blanket and suck thumb
-yell loudly “ya ya”

Two days ago, Isabelle crawled over to me, stood up holding onto my legs, and said “ma ma”, clear as day. What a lovely thing!

Each day she gets faster and faster on her knees and getting up and down. Sometimes I think she has had caffeine with all her energy. Each day I feel she changes and becomes more aware of everything.

During the few weeks of terrible heat and humidity, bella slept her morning and afternoon naps. Now that it is colder, she has dropped the afternoon one again.

During the days of heat, Bella splashed in her pool. Now that it is warm she likes getting her bath – Not her face washed, but getting water all over.

I dropped another feeding this past week (the afternoon one). I’m down to 2-3 feedings (morning and night). She was a bit clingy a few days, but seems to be ok now. It went MUCH easier than I thought. She even took her afternoon nap without me nursing her!

This past weekend was similar to a vacation. Mike took Friday off to spend time with his brother Tom and we all were together as a family. Isabelle loved spending time with “da da”.

What Bella likes to do:
-rocking her crib to make noise
-waving bye bye
-rub face in her blanket and suck thumb
-babble incessantly
-make “mmm” noises while she eats
-pull cat’s hair and tail

This past week Bella has had a stuffy nose most of the week. Mike and I are hoping it’s a cold and not allergies. It started as soon as it became warm and beautiful. Yes, it went from 40 degrees to 90 in a week. It’s been so hot she has been wearing just a diaper, even in our house!

Isabelle goes from a crawling position to sitting or standing to sitting all the time now. She has realized it’s much easier to play while sitting then on all fours.

She can use her sippy cup by herself. She knows she has to tip it high.

Each day she seems to understand more and more. “Where’s Nona” “Where’s Kitty” “So big” “wave bye bye”

What Bella likes to do:
-bounce up and down on feet
-playing with magnets
-waving
-pull socks off feet
-rub face in her blanket
-tear up magazines
