Beautiful Spring days…and the foliage is already in full bloom.

Quote of the week by Jack:
“I’m picking dandy-puffolions.”

Yesterday was a crazy day…school for Isabelle, then she had ballet, then her first time for t-ball practice. T-ball was a hoot. She had no idea really what to do and it was her first time holding a glove, but she did very well listening to the coach and following directions. Every once in a while she would look at me and beam her smiling face. She hit the ball every time her first 5 hits and then ran the bases (well missed all three) but she did a great job. I wasn’t sure how she would do, but she seemed to really enjoy herself. For this I’m very happy. She’s not shown a huge inclination towards sports and I’d love for her to jump out and play.

Looking at the pictures on this page you would never know that we had weather in the 80’s for a week already. We even dragged out the kiddie pool because it was just to hot to do anything.

Spring: Plants and flowers are popping out of the ground at a rapid rate. Leaves are popping out of trees. It’s spring and after such a long cold winter, I’m loving the sun.

Sickness: The past few weeks have been rather tough with the constant sicknesses. Everyone is irritable. Luckily I have escaped any illness so far. Isabelle does have an ear infection so hopefully with the antibiotic she will get well. Already I see more smiles in the house. Because of the lingering ‘cold-like’ symptoms the doctor did suggest it may be allergies. I hope this is not true.

Pregnancy: At 32 weeks I feel great. Outside of a pulling in my stomach, like my belly is being streched to the max, and physical tiring, I feel wonderful. I may look tired, but generally I’m happy to be pregnant. Maybe it’s because I know this will probably be my last.
I have my last ultrasound tomorrow and thus far everything looks great. No diabetes, blood pressure is fine, etc. The baby moves A LOT. Many jabs are painful and unexpected. The baby’s head is already down low which is why I’m feeling the strecthing. The baby’s feet are on the right side of belly where I feel most of the kicks. As of now, the baby is positoned the same as Jack and Bella, which probably means back labor. OH JOY!
No, we do not know the sex or have any names picked out. I’m due July 3rd, but we’ll have to see. I don’t want this baby-joy period to end.

Tagsale: along with two other families, we put on a tagsale this past weekend. Outside of the countless hours of preparation, we had lots of fun and good success. Thank goodness the weather held out!

Visit from Auntie: my sister Helen was here this past month visiting from Germany. It was a wonderful time being all together and too soon her trip was over. Of course the kids loved having her here, someone who would do whatever they wanted and was lots of fun.

Quote of the month: (by jack)
“I want bella to get sick and then we can watch TV”
THey only watch tv when they are sick or it’s a speciall occasion. Jack is too smart.

WHAT THEY DO:

Isabelle: since January she has had 4 stomach bugs. It’s frustrating since over the winter she was pretty healthy. Ear infections have also continued which I’m still trying to muddle through.
Bella still loves involving herself in many little projects. She’s never happier than when she carrying her stuff around and making nests.
She loves to organize and involve herself in whatever anyone else is doing.
Her biking ability has excelled this year. Being taller helps a great deal of course and she wants to peddle herself. She also now knows how to pump on the swing and can swing herself.
She still loves ballet and often dances around the house in her ballet shoes.

Jack: since turning 3 he’s become quite a handful. He’s testing us constantly. He hits us or bella; thrashes with his blankie; throws things when he’s upset; talks back; is unfriendly or disrespectful; whines; difficult to put to bed, etc. We’re trying all sorts of tactics between punishing and ignoring. There is no real light in the tunnel as of yet, but we’re working on the situation.
Jack loves puzzles, painting especially; playdo, and dancing. Any time music plays he dances round and round in a circle. He loves biking and peddals like mad, hunched over the handle bars. Playing in mud and sloshing in water is another great pasttime.
He is still one that needs lots of hugs and requests lots of snuggles “mom, will yousnuggle with me?”. Oh yes, he now calls me Mom like a big boy does.
Jack is very nearly potty trained. He only wears a diaper to bed and rarely has accidents ever.
When we go walking, jack loves to pick up sticks (As big as he can find) and carry them along.

JACK AND BELLA TOGETHER:
The two still love to play together. Rather it may be called a love/hate relationship. They each know the other is there and a wonderful playmate but they invariably end up poking at the other. Jack especially is fond of Isabelle and misses her a great deal when she’s at school. When they remeet they give each other fantastic hugs, cheek to cheek.

Isabelle has learned that she has a playmate and a little servant in Jack. If she drops an art piece at the table, she’ll say ‘Jack go get that’ or if we’re reading on the couch and need another book, she’ll say ‘Jack go get another book’. Usually he does as she says, though he is getting wiser.

If one of them is crying, the other will try to soothe with various techniques (bringing friends, patting the other, hugging, suggesting other things to play with, etc). They really look out for the other.

They still take baths in either sink and to see them play is a hoot.
